I've been back into my watercolours again and feeling inspired by masks... these are a little fictional, but inspired by a variety of Incan masks...
I love the precious stones and ornate detail in the original masks.
I've also been experimenting with different papers... the blue painting is on a hot pressed, lovely satin finish paper... the red on a cold press, rough paper. So, entirely different!
Next I want to try a brighter white paper. Both of these are on Traditional White and really bring back the paper colour... particularly on the rough paper, it seems to just absorb the light... I want something a little more radiant next time!
What paper do you prefer to use?
